Trust, Risk, and Governance

OGCoin is an experimental Stellar mainnet asset for Open Build's open source funding and developer education programs. This page records what is verifiable today, what is still experimental, and what must be decided before broader trading or payroll use.

No OGC/XLM bids, asks, or liquidity pools were detected at the last local check.

OGC should not replace required wages unless payroll, tax, labor, and state-law review is complete.

What OGC Is Not

  • OGC is not equity, debt, ownership, or voting stock in Open Build.
  • OGC is not redeemable for fiat, legal tender, or a guaranteed off-chain asset.
  • OGC does not include profit, dividend, interest, buyback, or price-support promises.
  • Early markets may be thin, volatile, or unavailable, and holders may not be able to exit.
  • Airdrops, grants, and project support are discretionary and subject to eligibility, compliance, and treasury policy.

Governance

The issuer account is active and should be treated as a cold governance account. Open Build has published an interim operating policy covering signer hygiene, supply authority, treasury movement, and distribution records.

Read the issuer and treasury governance policy

Distribution

Airdrops and grants should remain opt-in and trustline-based. Each distribution batch should be validated locally, approved by a human signer, and recorded with recipient count, purpose, amount, and transaction hashes.

Read the trustline onboarding guide

Liquidity

OGC should not be promoted as readily tradable until a small, documented market-making or liquidity policy is approved. Any initial OGC/XLM market should use limited exposure and public wallet records.

Read the liquidity policy

Payroll Readiness

OGC may be useful for optional grants, bonuses, or contributor rewards, but employee wage use needs separate review. Required wages, withholding, wage statements, recordkeeping, overtime, and state-law rules must still be satisfied.

Until that review is complete, Open Build should preserve ordinary payroll in USD and treat any OGC employee distribution as an elective supplemental grant with written consent, valuation support, and tax reporting.
